Blue Hyacinth in Old Bottle

There was something about the new spring flower in the old worn bottle that appealed. I was playing around with backgrounds and I felt a yellow to compliment the blue would be nice, so I grabbed whatever was in the immediate vicinity which happened to be a couple of rough self portrait sketches in red chalk on acidic yellow note paper. I kind of liked the composition with the jagged corners and acidic colour fighting against the delicacy of the blue flower. Not sure if it works or not really...
